Safe Travel With Phil Pratt

Rock Steady albums have a tendency to come and go. Safe Travel is something a little bit different. If you were looking to buy these records in their original 7inch form – You would be seriously looking at a bill of thousands of dollars. Pressure Sounds has spent 5 years putting this album together and actually started looking at this project after the first album released 5 years ago.

Safe Travel includes some of the rarest releases on The Caltone & JohnTom labels. Featuring beautiful minor key melodies with superb vocals and grooves, Phil Pratt’s singing and productions have always been exceptional and the selection of tunes are simply stunning examples of the art of rock steady. Vocalists Ken Boothe’s “The One I Love” Larry Marshall’s “No One To Give Me Love” and the very young Horace Andy’s Black Mans Country (his first ever recording) are all tracks that are timeless, and Tommy McCook’s “Big Things” has never seen the light of day prior to this release! Instrumentals feature Tommy McCook, Don Drummond and the great Lyn Tait.

With the usual attention to details, extensive sleeve notes and the beautiful graphics and restored sound you get twenty three tracks of the coolest Rock Steady ever!
